Tempo Warranty

Warranty on Residential Frames and Covers

At Tempo, we believe in the durability of our products and support our customers throughout their use. That’s why we offer a warranty covering the entire useful life of our shelters against any manufacturing defects.

What is covered

This warranty covers major manufacturing defects that affect the quality or use of the shelter, such as cracks, abnormal deformations, metal breakage not caused by misuse, welding defects, as well as issues with the stitching or lamination of the cover.

*A manufacturing defect would be apparent at the shelter’s installation stage. Inspect your shelter after assembly to detect any visible defects.

Tempo Warranty (Residential Frames and Covers) – updated August 25, 2025

At Tempo, we believe in the durability and superior quality of our products.
That’s why we are proud to offer a warranty on Tempo’s galvanized steel frame and residential cover, exclusively for residential and winter use, against any manufacturing defect.

Possible water infiltration through the seams is not considered a defect.

1. Products covered by this warranty

The shelters sold by the company registered in Canada (NEQ 1175182352) under the name Abris Tempo (“Tempo”) are warranted by Tempo. This warranty applies only to the following components of residential-use shelters:

  • Tempo galvanized steel frames (the “frame” or “frames”).
  • Tempo standard residential covers (the “cover” or “covers”).

Exclusions:

  • Ropes and screws provided at the time of purchase.
  • Products made of 7oz, 12oz, or fire-retardant material.
  • Parts modified by the customer or non original Tempo parts.
  • Products used for commercial, industrial, or agricultural purposes.

2. Scope of the warranty and conditions of application

The warranty covers only manufacturing defects that are detectable at the initial installation or that occur during normal use, which significantly affect the quality, safety, or use of the shelter, including:

  • Abnormal cracks, deformations, or metal breakage not caused by misuse.
  • Welding defects on the frame or stitching defects on the cover, excluding normal wear.
  • Initial lamination defects on the cover.

Important:

Possible water infiltration through the seams of a stitched cover is not considered a manufacturing defect.

Stitched covers are not intended to be completely waterproof in case of rain. By design, they contain small perforations for the thread, which may result in slight seepage during rainfall. This is normal and expected for this type of construction and does not affect the compliance or quality of the cover.

To be eligible for warranty coverage:

  • The shelter must be installed on private residential property.
  • The shelter must not be used for permanent, commercial, agricultural, or industrial purposes.
  • The shelter must be used during the winter season permitted by the municipality.
  • The frame and cover must be installed, maintained, and anchored according to the instructions provided at the time of purchase.

Any use outside these conditions is excluded from the warranty.

3. Warranty exclusions

The warranty does not cover damage, deterioration, or changes caused by:

  • Excessive or uncleared snow accumulations.
  • Strong winds, hurricanes, or other extreme weather events.
  • Anchoring or installation not in accordance with the instruction manual, including damage caused by anchoring with concrete blocks.
  • Normal wear and tear, aging, UV rays, discoloration, mold, or perforations caused by objects, people, or animals.
  • Exposure to salt in the environment, for example in certain regions of Québec such as Bas-Saint-Laurent, Côte-Nord, and Gaspésie–Îles-de-la-Madeleine, or de-icing salt, which can accelerate rust on the shelter’s metal components;
  • Extended off-season use.
  • Misuse or negligence.
  • Any use that contravenes the conditions stated in clause 2 of this warranty.

4. Duration and limitations

The warranty comes into effect on the day the shelter is taken into possession and applies for the normal useful life of the product. The normal useful life of a Tempo residential shelter is estimated based on maintenance, exposure, and weather conditions as follows:

  • 7 years for the cover;
  • 10 years for the metal frame.

Tempo reserves the right to determine whether a product has reached the end of its normal useful life, based on the condition of the material and its age.

5. Non-transferability

This warranty is provided free of charge by Tempo and applies only to the first purchaser of the shelter (cover and/or frame) for residential use. It is not transferable to any third party.

6. Force majeure and unforeseeable events

This warranty does not cover damage resulting from events beyond Tempo’s control (force majeure), including, but not limited to: excessive snow, extreme winds, fires, floods, earthquakes, or other major natural events.

7. Claims

To make a claim:

Complete the warranty form available on the website, including:

  • A valid proof of purchase;
  • A detailed description of the defect;
  • Clear photos of the entire shelter, the defect, and the anchoring used.

Tempo reserves the right to:

  • Request the return of the defective part for analysis;
  • Replace only the defective part, not the entire product.

All shipping, installation, disassembly, or return costs are the responsibility of the purchaser, unless otherwise stated in writing by Tempo.

8. Warranty execution

At its discretion, Tempo may:

  • Repair or replace the defective part;
  • Provide an equivalent part;
  • Refund the purchase price if the part is no longer available.

No refund will be granted if the failure is due to misuse or if it is covered by one of the exclusions outlined in this warranty (see clause 3).

9. Applicable law

This warranty does not limit your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, but it clearly and fairly defines Tempo’s commitments.

10. Entire warranty

This document contains the complete Tempo warranty for residential shelters.
